I don’t literally mean that you should clean your house (though that might help, too). Writer’s block often creeps up because we have other things on our minds. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is take a break from writing and attend to your other issues. Pay your bills. Make a call to patch up a fractured relationship. Finish your work or school project. Run that errand you’ve been putting off. Come back to your writing with a clear mind and a sense of freedom.
